Michelle Masson

In her eight years as a Reid Eddison partner, Michelle has worked with the founders and senior managers of dozens of technology companies to help them formulate strategy and implement sound processes for business planning and performance monitoring.

Prior to joining Reid Eddison, Michelle spent 15 years in the technology industry, working with both product and services companies at various stages of development from startup to mature. After ten years at Fulcrum Technologies, where she helped build an organization with fifteen offices in seven countries, Michelle subsequently worked in a variety of management roles at IStar Internet, AMITA, and DY4 Systems.

A prime author of the Reid Eddison planning methodology, Michelle is an exceptionally skilled facilitator who has led over 50 off-site planning workshops. Working with senior executive teams of companies of all sizes, and with boards of not-for-profit organizations, she helps clients to creatively explore opportunities, identify and define realistic long term goals, and map out the path to achievement.

Michelle has particular experience in helping management teams articulate and reach alignment around key business objectives and to then communicate these objectives throughout the company. She regularly coaches emerging leaders as they develop needed management skills. On several occasions, she has helped guide clients through periods of particularly critical organizational change by serving in a senior operational role as their acting Vice President of Human Resources.

Committed to promoting entrepreneurial spirit, Michelle is the past Chair of the Regional Board of Directors for Junior Achievement of Eastern Ontario, and has served as advisor, board member, and active volunteer for several not-for-profit organizations and associations.

An acknowledged expert in organizational behavior who is regularly quoted in the press on issues affecting the technology industry, Michelle received her Human Resources Professional Certification from the University of Toronto, and currently teaches in the Professional Development program at Carleton University’s Sprott School of Business.
