As a Senior Public Relations Executive at the
world headquarters of Cognos Inc.
in Ottawa, Gillian oversaw more than five product introductions
during 1998 alone. She also drove business and mainstream media
initiatives in the local hiring market.
At Fulcrum Technologies
Inc., where she was Manager of Public Relations from 1994
to 1997, Gillian coordinated all areas of strategic communications
for the company, including press and analyst relations. She helped
launch Fulcrum's first packaged software application, and developed
highly successful programs for product reviews and analyst outreach.
Gillian has also worked as a communications specialist with a small government agency.
She graduated from the University of Ottawa with an MA in English literature.
When she's not working in her office, Gillian
can usually be found volunteering her communication skills to various
community building organizations. She is a member of the board of
directors for Citizen Advocacy of Ottawa, a group dedicated to helping
people with disabilities participate fully in community life.
