Eddison Inc., (www.reideddison.com) a business mentoring firm for
young and growing high technology companies, today announced that
Jeff Dodge, the co-founder and former chief executive of NetActive,
is joining as Entrepreneur in Residence, and that Michelle Masson,
a former director of Human Resources at several local technology companies,
is joining as partner. Reid Eddison, now made up of nine professional
mentors, offers a broad range of expertise to start-ups and growing
technology companies.
"Jeff shares that inexplicable entrepreneurial
urge that drives some individuals to create companies out of good
ideas, against the incredible odds all young technology companies
face," said Peter Reid, Reid Eddison co-founder. "As Reid
Eddison's Entrepreneur in Residence, Jeff will have an opportunity
to share his vivid business-building experiences with young executive
teams, to help improve their odds."
Dodge is the former president and CEO of NetActive,
a Nortel Networks 'spin-out' company that he co-founded in 1997.
Dodge grew NetActive from 5 people to over 100 located in Ottawa,
New York and San Francisco, raised $30 million in venture financing,
and built the company into a leader in the area of Digital Rights
Management and online marketing. After earning a degree in Computer
Science from Memorial University of Newfoundland, Dodge moved to
Ottawa, where he has spent nearly 20 years in the high technology
sector. He has worked with a range of technologies, such as data
switching, public and private voice switching, E9-1-1 systems, broadband
access, Interactive TV and recently Digital Rights and the Internet.
He has held positions ranging from software design through product
management, marketing, sales and executive management.
Reid added: "Michelle Masson has over a
decade of experience in leading the development of human resources
strategies at young and growing technology companies, and has proven
her ability to help companies define the right approach to align
their 'corporate culture' with business objectives. High performance
companies know that investing in 'human capital' contributes directly
to the bottom line, and Michelle will be a great addition at Reid
Eddison."
Masson joins Reid Eddison from DY4, and was

About Reid Eddison
Launched by former Fulcrum Technologies Inc.
executives Peter Reid and Peter Eddison in 1997, the founding partners
of Reid Eddison recognized that Canada's high technology sector
was growing rapidly and that many of these fledgling companies were
led by young, inexperienced management teams. They established an
organization that would meet the greatest need these companies have
- the need for knowledgeable advice from people who have been there
before and succeeded.
Today, Reid Eddison's clients are mainly software
companies that range in size from founder teams to larger venture-financed
companies poised to go public. All have in common a commitment to preparing for growth.
Reid Eddison brings dynamic, intertwining skills that include expertise in the areas
of finance, sales, strategic marketing, public relations, human resources and management.
